A Birthday Bonanza

Hello friends! To start of this post I just want to take the time to welcome all of you wonderful new subscribers and also give a tip of the hat to all of the old ones for sticking with me for this long! You can’t imagine my sheer delight when I open an email notification that someone new wants to stay up-to-date with my little piece of the internet. I so enjoy reading all of your comments and I just want to say, that even though I have never met you, I love you. God, it brings a tear to a glass eye!

Moving on to something slightly more shallow – I want to share with you a few of the wonderful gifts that I received for my birthday last week! I don’t know how you kids feel about this kind of post. Please don’t take this as if I’m bragging or anything like that – I am all too aware of how very lucky I am! The thing is, I love reading this kind of post on other blogs. I like seeing what others get, be it a shopping trip haul or indeed a birthday present bonanza.

Handmade Notice Board from my wonderful friend Sam 🙂

I was truly blown away by how generous my friends and family are. 23 is not a ‘big’ birthday, yet I was completely spoiled. As my man-friend was working on my actual birthday, I planned to meet my mum and dad for a bit of dinner at a restaurant halfway between Edinburgh and Glasgow. I rocked up there after work to meet them and I was stunned to see my Nana, Grampa, Aunt, Uncle, Cousin and Brother had all come too as an extra surprise. I love my family very much 🙂 Getting sentimental in my old age!

I am a firm believer that no matter what age you are, you should feel like the most special person in the world, a Princess if you will, on your birthday. I felt like a bloody Queen!
