Welcome to the month of love my pretties! I have to say I’m usually a bit ‘shmeh’ about Valentines day because I’m ALWAYS UNDERWHELMED, but this year I have set Ian the challenge of romancing me of my God-damned feet so I’m bigging up V-day with as much panache as I can muster.
I firmly believe that the way to anyone’s heart is with food, snack foods especially, and that’s why I made these lush chocolate covered pretzels! Ever noticed how a pretzel looks a bit like a heart? Well I’m my book that makes it the perfect Valentines sweet treat for your sweetie 😉 They couldn’t be easier to make – melt some chocolate, dip pretzels, leave to set – but what kind of blogger would I be if I didn’t drag out the process with a photo collage and some ‘artsy’ food shots….
As you can see I used a mixture of white and milk chocolate because I’m terribly indecisive. Bang each bowl in the microwave for 15 seconds at a time, stirring in-between and then dunk those pretzels in all that melted chocolatey goodness.
Ooooh.. Look at that artsy angle. Can you tell that I still have absolutely no idea how to work my big girl camera? Can’t blame a girl for trying though – fake it till I make it and all that.
If in doubt, pop some in a cupcake case, get down on your knees and pretend that this picture isn’t terribly staged. Good news is that I can eat the evidence… and I did. HAPPY VALENTINES MONTH!
