Sewing Pattern Haul

I am going to learn to sew clothes if it kills me so I’ve treated myself to a bit of a sewing pattern haul to give me the final push! An offer popped into my inbox a couple of weeks ago from Jaycotts.co.uk for 50% off their Simplicity patterns so you know I couldn’t pass it up! Does anyone else get sucked into the ‘Free Delivery’ trap? I write it in quotations because this kind of ‘free’ only applies when you spend over a certain amount… I’m a sucker for a ‘deal…’

Anyway, I may have bought 1 or 2 or 8 patterns. I need help.

So now I really have no excuse not to take the plunge! I’m setting myself a challenge and making at least one item from each pattern and I actually started off slowly last week by making a car organiser! This one to be precise.

It’ pretty tricky and I’ve somehow  managed to bend the needle in my sewing machine. When i can figure out how to replace it I’ll hopefully manage to finish the bugger quickly! It’s not pretty, but it’s a start 🙂

I would just like to address the elephant in the room right now. Yes, I did buy a pattern dedicated to Disney Princess dresses. I am a princess. I apologise to no one.

I also purchased another sewing-related item which may maybe a bit presumptuous….

dress form

Yep, I bought a dress form. I’m spending no more money on dressmaking paraphernalia until I actually make a dress! You heard it here first.

On a completely unrelated note I’m off to a wedding today (oh the wonders of scheduled posting.) If you feel so inclined then I would urge you to congratulate Sam the beautiful bride over on her blog Create.Dream.Love

  1. I love the Disney Princess pattern! The other patterns that you chose are lovely! I am going to make it my mission to learn to sew someday! My mother in law can make anything and she has said she’s teach me!

    1. Thats great that you have someone to teach you! I would love that instead of blindly following a pattern lol! Thanks for stopping by 🙂
