Sew Your Own Wardrobe: March Project

We’re into the home straight with my Sew Your Own Wardrobe challenge with only 2 months to go. I’m as surprised as anyone that I’ve stuck with it this long! For this month’s project I’m stepping away from the knit and jersey material but sticking with a simple pattern which I think will be a wardrobe staple for me: The Kimono Dress by Salme Sewing Patterns.

Apart from knit dresses, this is the other type of frock you will find in my closet. I like things with sleeves and dresses which aren’t very fitted and this fits the bill pretty well! I also have the perfect fabric for the project thanks Hazel! I stole acquired this lush ikat print at the recent sewing day where we had a swap table. Look how pretty!

I’m going to try REALLY hard with the pattern matching but who know’s how it’ll turn out… So that’s the 2nd-to-last project of this series. It’s a pretty simple make but I do have something a touch more complex for the finale 😉 Be sure to check back at the end of the month for the results!
