Sew Your Own Wardrobe: April Project

Are you ready for a quickie? THIS IS THE LAST SEW YOUR OWN WARDROBE PLANNING POST! This occasion deserves more pomp that I can give at the moment so we’ll keep it brief and tell you that this month I’ll be making the Cynthia Rowley 1688 dress pattern!

Not gonna lie, it was so difficult to choose a pattern this month. A big part of me wanted a challenge, but then an even bigger part of me wanted to actually have a finished, wearable garment at the end of it all. Compromise? A fitted dress from a pattern line I’m very comfortable with which only has a few pieces 🙂 I’m making view C which is the dress with a contrast yolk thing (technical, right?) Fabric choice? No firm plans yet I’m afraid. This will be the frock I hopefully wear to my mum’s 50th shindig so I have a few ideas but nothing I’ll commit to. The do is a shmancy cocktail garden party so the dress has to fit the occasion without being too ‘much.’ Yes, I’m using ‘much’ as an adjective these days.

It seems that the most exciting part will be using my Swedish tracing paper for the first time! I’ll let you know how it goes…
